It is common to see adverts for abdominal cruncher machines on television or in magazines, but do they actually work? Yes and no is the answer to that. I know this is not particularly helpful but let me explain further. This is the key on how to get ripped abs fast. These appliances exercise and work the layers of ab muscles. With these machines you can work the various parts of the ab muscles. Hopefully, after working out with these machines the abdominal muscles will hypertrophy, or increase in size. Using these machines alone is unlikely to produce a lovely set of lean, rippling abs. The reason being is that in order to get ripped abs you need to get rid of that layer of fat tissue that overlays the abs. Programs such as fatloss4idiots work on these ideas.
Using these crunchers alone will not get rid of this layer of fat focally over the abdominal muscles. Doing lots of sit ups will not burn this fat layer off for the very same reason. If your goal is to lose fat quickly, it’s necessary to work exceptionally hard at high intensity interval training and circuit training. It is often difficult to gauge how intense you should be. Figuring out the ideal workout intensity for things like interval training is almost an art.
The Strategy I Recommend for Fat Loss and Muscle Definition
Usually, I try to divide the strength training part of my workout from the fat loss part. If you’re going for muscle definition, I suggest heavy weights, combined with brief, low volume strength training. Your muscles will firm up and you will begin to see an increase in definition this way. Most of the time the strength training is the easy part. The calorie burning fat loss section of your workout is when workout intensity comes into play. You should do a somewhat intense fat loss workout at least 3 times per week. Your workout can be body weight circuits, high intensity interval training (HIIT), or a circuit or interval workout that you feel comfortable with.
You can’t Get An “After Effect” Using Low Intensity During a Workout
Most often, when I am at the gym, I see people doing a fat loss workout with no intensity in it. If you’re taking a break until your next interval, a treadmill is fine – but otherwise, it’s a total waste of time. Honestly, the amount of calories you burn doing low intensity cardio isn’t going to make a huge impact on your physique.
Too High of an Intensity Level Is a Negative As Well
It’s okay to workout hard, but if you’re getting too intense, your body is more apt to overcompensate by needing far more rest, post-workout. For the optimal fat loss results, you should go about your day as if the workout didn’t just happen, otherwise your body will waste time resting. Working out hard and then sitting on the couch the rest of the day because you are tired, is not a good fat loss strategy.
How to Tell If Your Fat Loss Workout is the Correct Intensity?
I look for a thing called the “HGH Flush”. This is a good way to judge the effectiveness of your fat loss workout. If your skin is slightly red and hot to the touch and you are out of breath after your workout, then you have achieved the HGH flush. Try to remember how hot and out of breath you felt, after the gym teacher had you run lines in junior high? Your body releases a higher amount of HGH, a fat burning hormone, than usual during this HGH flush, indicating that your metabolism is increased.
Your Comfort Zone Can Also Guide You if You Keep Your Workouts Just Inside its Limit
A common mistake I’ve witnessed is clients being pushed too hard, too soon by their personal trainers. I once hired a personal trainer who wanted to “destroy me” with each workout. Um…no thanks. This workout intensity is usually referred to the ’sweet spot’. As you get in shape, you can gradually push yourself harder. However, pay close attention and back off a bit if you find yourself overly tired after a workout.

Do you believe you can’t lose weight? Have you got a particular reason you can’t lose that excess fat? Sadly the majority of people who want to lose weight get it in their heads that they simply can’t lose weight. That there’s a magical force stopping them from losing weight.
Realty is that deep down they don’t really wanna lose any weight. They would be happy to simply carry on as they are. Openly though, they will still claim to want to lose weight but can’t seem to manage it.
It’s no magical secret. Weight loss is a simple mathematical problem. Your body needs to use more calories than it takes in. If you don’t use as many calories as you eat you will gain weight. Period.
On the other hand if we burn off slightly more than we eat we lose weight. And herein lies the problem. Today’s average diet is so calorie laden it’s a joke. If you actually measured out the right amount of calorific intake that you should have each day you’ll give yourself a heart attack.
Let’s look at a simple example, side bends as an exercise for love handles. Doing lots and lots of these will make you lose weight. However, how many you have to do is hard to guess. You have to calculate how many calories you are burning to balance the scales.
You can quite easily take in a whole days allowance of calories in one meal. Seriously! Fast food is the biggest culprit. In fact fast food is quite often laced with sugar, even the burgers! Sugar makes you get hungry quicker after digestion.
Almost everything we eat gets changed into a simple form of sugar called glucose by the body. Sugary foods get used up much faster and then leave you feeling hungry again very quickly. Is our western diet and its high sugar content a conspiracy to get us to eat more and more, and ultimately spend more and more?
The more food we eat, the more money we spend, the more big industry gets rich. Big business gets richer by the day with this simple formula. And the easiest way to get us eating more? Add sugar to everything we eat.
It’s a bit like in some bars. Free pretzels and peanuts get us eating salt, the salt makes us thirsty, we buy more drinks. To finish off, you should lose some weight if you burn off more calories than you take in. Can you achieve this without help? I very much doubt it as willpower these days pretty scarce.
You need a system to follow. Something to hold your hand every step of the way. A system that will guarantee you drop those unwanted pounds if you follow the rules. If you think you’ve tried everything and still can’t lose weight. Consider trying a product with a whole new approach.

Do any search on the net and you’ll hit a million websites that will promise to strip that fat from your love handles. Fact is, the majority is useless. Designed to sell you some crap diet or some pills.
The side bend is the usual suspect in the exercise for love handles category. You hold something above your head, usually a broom handle or stick and then lean or bend left, then right. Then repeat, repeatedly. Get real! It would be nice if they actually worked.
They rarely work because you are trying to target just one small area. This is very difficult if not impossible. You’ll get a lot of know it alls telling you they do indeed work. Of course they work, but only when they are part of a complete system. Not just targeting one area.
If you do side bends as part of a thorough workout then they will work. Couple the thorough workout with decent eating habits and you’ve cracked it. The fact is, to lose weight (or fat) you need to burn more energy than you consume.
To consume energy simply means to eat food. Burning energy off is done simply by activity or exercise. You can burn energy off (exercise) with any form of activity.
Any of these will do … Swimming, jogging, cycling, walking, and making love even! Any type of exercise is good for you. No exercise is bad for you. The reason a lot of us are overweight is we eat food that is stuffed with calories. Then we fail to burn those calories off.
You can do love handle exercises for ever and a day but ignore other areas and you will end up back at square one. If you are a naturally lazy person (like me) then swimming is probably your best all round exercise. If you have access to a pool, use it. The benefits are immense.
I personally turn my nose up at jogging. I see no point in spending hours in pain and shortening the life of your knees. The guy who popularised jogging actually died while out jogging in a park somewhere. Ironically discovered by two smokers walking past.
If it’s time you took action on your weight & lifestyle you need to get an all round system that you can work with. Exercise for love handles, will it hurt me? Well that all rests on what & how you do it. But it doesn’t have to be.
Those nasty lumps of fat at your sides are what is termed as ‘love handles’. There’s nothing lovely about them so where the name comes from I don’t know.
Love handles are actually ‘oblique muscles’ or ‘obliques’, named for the fact they sit at an angle at our sides. Oblique actually means ‘at an angle’.
The majority of advice in the fitness game will be garbage like – eat healthily, balanced diet, exercise regularly – that sort of thing.
We know what we should do but we need to get rid of these love handles the easy way, without the hard work. Is there a way?
Yes it’s possible. You can continue on your junk food diet and lose your love handles but you are in for a huge amount of work.
The biggest hurdle you face is that while you exercise for love handles, you only rid yourself of yesterday’s fat. Today’s fat is making it’s way to love handle central.
If, and it’s a big if, you could stop with the all the bad food you wouldn’t have to do nearly as much exercise to maintain a great body.
It’s all about trade-off. How bad do you want to get rid of your love handles? Bad enough to change your lifestyle?
Or will you still eat like you do now and decide to do a lot more exercise. It’s your choice.
A popular exercise for love handles is side bends. You may need to do a few hundred a day to maintain your love handles and your current diet. Or only do a few dozen to keep the love handles flat if you make the lifestyle change.
As you can see from the example above, it’s a compromise. More garbage food will mean more exercise. Better food means less exercise.
I’m inherently lazy, so I tend to go for the healthiest option that I can to minimise any exercise I have to do. I still do exercises for love handles but only to keep them at bay.
So there you have it, exercise for love handles will hurt if you have to do loads of them just to maintain your current love handles. It’s far less painful if you are prepared to adjust your lifestyle a bit.

I see my adult life as part one and part two. Although there is weight loss involved here it’s not why I see it in two parts.
My before part is before I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My after part is what happens after, dealing with the aftermath.
I knew I was carrying a bit of extra girth but I never thought 15 pounds or so was dangerously overweight for someone in my mid twenties.
I had tried to shift it many times but motivation is a damn difficult beast to master. I was stuck in the mindset of “I can’t lose weight“.
When I was trying and losing weight it seemed to take for ever to drop a couple pounds. When I stopped trying I gained any losses back almost overnight.
Then came the bombshell of diabetes. I know it’s not the end of the world but at the time it really feels like it.
It seemed I had to rid myself of any “can’t lose weight” thoughts and also rid myself of any excess weight. My health depended on it.
What on earth was I going to do? I always thought I can’t lose weight and that’s it. I find a system that worked and find it fast.
As I like to be a bit obsessive, I wanted something that I could follow step by step. Something that gave me a list of daily tasks that I could tick off one by one.
If the steps were planned meals or exercise routines then I’d need to tick off that it was complete. This way I know I’m sticking to the game plan.
I had differing levels of success with all manner of dieting systems and gizmos. Some quite expensive! I read plenty of books and lots of Ebooks.
I eventually discovered a neat little step by step system that has a computer generated diet planner, which importantly doesn’t restrict your portion sizes. It makes it so quick and easy to plan meals.
I said I like to tick boxes as I go, well this system ticks all the right boxes for me. Was that a bit of a pun there?
If you too think you can’t lose weight then let me tell you from experience you are 99% wrong in thinking that. Maybe you just haven’t found the system that works for you yet. Maybe that system is the one I use?

If you’ve been struggling with your weight for some time, you might believe right now that you simply can’t lose weight.

I tried all manner of useless diet products, some of them painfully expensive. They got me nowhere fast. Hopefully by getting yourself a system like mine you won’t have to waste a boat load of cash.
I eventually discovered a system that works great for me. I can plan my day, then simply follow the daily steps and know I’m on the right track.
My system has a computer generated meal planner that cuts the stress out of deciding what I can and can’t eat. I have portions that don’t leave me hungry, which is rather important to me!
You wouldn’t believe (or maybe you would) the stress it used to cause me just trying to work out what I could safely eat. Not any more! Push button planning for me, and I love it.
