You may be getting discouraged, and it’s hardly surprising, because you have worked on those six pack abdominals for so long, and they are still not showing. How many more crunches do i have to do to get them developed enough to show as a perfect set of six pack abs?
To start with, you are not the only one that this has happened to, there are many more people in this boat, so don’t give up yet, and with a few changes, your abdominals and six pack will be defined very soon. Despite our best intentions, which can be seen by the number of crunches we perform daily, some people just cannot get their perfect abs to show. You feel that your abdominal muscles are way stronger, nevertheless they still don’t show, so what exactly is going on? Well, first of all you need to to make absolutely sure that it is your abs that you are targeting in your crunches, an also check that you are not rushing them. For many workout enthusiasts, it is how many they can do in a fixed time that is important, but that lowers the standard of the exercise. To benefit more, each muscle contraction should be held for a few seconds, and if you are rushing to beat the latest record of number of the crunches in two minutes, then you cannot do this, and the exercises will not be as successful for you. So slow the exercises you are doing, and improve the quality of your exercises, and any other workouts you do that target the abs muscles.
Next on your agenda is to discover what your body fat ratio is – if you are a gym member, you can get weighed there and the scales will be able to tell you your body fat ratio if your bathroom scales aren’t able to. This number should be around 12, but if yours is much higher than this, then that explains why your 6 pack abs are not defined. The body fat ratio is an indicator to tell you how much body fat you have, and the higher the number, the more layers of fat you have. The more fat you have, the more layers of fat are covering your abdominal muscles, so if you have been doing your exercises the right way, your abs will be well defined but just covered by too much fat.
Now then, if too much is the cause of your abs to not show as great six pack abs what can you do? You can see that you need to lose some of those fat layers, and abs exercises alone will not do this for you. You must do some cardio workouts, to lose some weight. Don’t panic this doesn’t automatically mean that you have to work even longer in the gym daily. You can probably reduce the time you spend on your abs crunches, with more time doing cardio. If you can eat a little less, you will be able to to losing some body fat. Make sure your diet is healthy for you, and not over doing the drinks. The occasional drink is fine, but drinking alcohol regularly is just giving your body with too many unneccessary calories.
So, to summarize, do your exercises properly, lower your body fat ratio and your 6 pack abs will be defined and showing like those on others you’ve been jealously watching.

Gest article written by:

With my personal fitness training, one thing I get asked alot is ‘how can women get a 6 pack?’ Many ladies try, and fail. While we agree is harder for a lady to grow flat ab muscles fast comapred to males, its certainly not out of the question. With the right approach you can do it easily.
In my experience, women who want 6 pack abs, are pretty serious about their training and goals. Ladies who are after that ideal 6 pack, have often spent time and effort in spades, on their body already. This is why I really enjoy training these such people, as they train hard because they have defined goals which they are very serious about!
Thats not to say, that those reading this might not be beginners. There is definitly many beginners, who are very serious about getting ripped abs. Sometimes its the sole goal! My initial point to them, is they have to be prepared to change their lifestyle, and work hard! The rewards a a huge bonus, and you’ll be so happey when you reach your goals.
Now, how to best go about getting that six pack abs in women? Is the approach different to what men do? Is it even possible?
You bet you can! It just takes a little bit of a different approach, but I certainly have helped many women to reach their six pack goals over my years as a trainer. Lets take a look at my top ideas for ripping up those abs:
Women dont have the same propencity to build muscle, due to a lack of testosterone to pack on dense muscle. This really just means that a slight change in training focus and intensity, plus a shift in diet focus, is all that you need to grow those muscles.
One of the fundamentals is not just to only work the muscles but also reduce the fat accumulation that presides over the stomach. This has the effect of exposing the abdominals underneath. When you reach this level, that awesome 6 pack abdominal look is totally yours.
The best way to get rid of this fat layer, is to use an overall cardio workout, that addresses target areas. One thing that I recommend to all my female clients, is to start doing pump or circuit classes, as this is one of the fastest ways to burn through flab.
Not only are they fun, they utilise the core for nearly all the actions involved. Join up to your gym today, or else get hold of some at home ‘pump’ DVD’s and try the class in your lounge.

All the best,

What most people do not realize is that learning how to get a 6 pack is really not that hard.
The problem that everyone seems to have is that they put all of their focus into the wrong areas. As an example of one important area let’s take lower abs exercises.
The result in the end is that they have nothing to show for all their money and time invested.
Take the advice here about how to get a 6 pack the right way and you’ll finally see success.
Let’s get you started with the following fact – your muscle abs are hidden under whatever belly fat you have.
This means that you could build up your abs with the most intense, most effective muscle building exercises you could find, but if you still have a layer of fat over them, guess what?
So, what this means is that your abdominal muslces are still not visable due to the fact that they are covered with a fat lawer.
Therefore, while it is important to target your abdominals through effective training, it’s even more important to get rid of that stubborn fat so that the progress you do make is visible.
This has to be done through two ways, by changing your nutritional program and by burning off extra calories through your workouts.
To effectively change your diet you can try a favorite cutting down strategy that doesn’t require you to go hungry or avoid your favorite foods.
On the days that you work out, eat your recommended calorie total, whatever total would not have you gaining or losing weight.
On days you don’t work out, cut that total by 20%. So if you eat 2,500 calories normally, eat that amount every day you hit the gym or perform other rigorous exercise, and shoot for about 2,000 on days you don’t.
If you still aren’t losing weight, you can then reduce every day to the inactive day calorie totals.
Of course learning how to get a 6 pack also incorporates exercising, and as mentioned you will need to burn off a lot of those extra calories in this fashion.
You’re going to have to start doing cardio, or start doing more of it if you already are.
All this doesn’t necesserily mean you have to use a treadmill for many hours, you just need to find ways to burn calories in other activities.
When you are lifting weights, you can make tweaks to your program so that you torch more calories in the process.
Lets take an example here – you can include supersets in your training routins, which are two sets of opposite muscle groups such as quadriceps and hamstrings.
This will help you increase your heart and breathing rates to desired levels.
You can also opt to try circuit training for your weightlifting, which will keep your metabolism revving on all cylinders.
Don’t waste any of your money on the latest abs machines you see on TV at 2 in the morning.
Don’t waste hour after hour in the gym working out but not eating right.
Get your diet into check and then compliment that with a workout strategy that will torch calories and build strength. To conclude, using a good six pack abs exercise routing will help you get there.
